The Asakusa View Hotel Annex, Rokku stage (A ten minute walk from THE GATE HOTEL Asakusa Kaminarimon) regularly hosts events featuring live narrators, Asou Yata and Asou Koyata.

During an era when movies were still referred to as “katsudō shashin” (moving pictures) in Japan, there were live narrators known as "katsuben-shi” who would provide explanations and commentary alongside screenings in theaters across the country.
As a new form of stage performance reviving Japan's unique storytelling art, "katsuben," Asou Yata and Asou Koyata will perform this art for the 21st century alongside silent film masterpieces.
