Mitsuo Aida Museum of Art
A museum where you can encounter works created by Mitsuo Aida, a calligrapher who is also known as the ‘Poet of Life’.
Written in a unique and tasteful calligraphy style, the messages will resonate slowly in your heart. You may have heard of many of them before.
The museum was designed in the image of the Hachimanyama burial mounds (Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture), where Mitsuo Aida used to take daily walks, with many of his works on display along with explanations, and a cafe and store. The museum was designed based on the concept of “a place to spend two hours of your life,” not just a place where you can touch the artworks, but a place where you can take your time and enjoy them.
